TTT (Top Ten Tuesday @ That Artsy Girl)
This week’s topic: Opening Lines (Best, favorite, funny, unique, shocking, gripping, lines that grabbed you immediately, etc.)
So here is a thing you need to know about me. I have a USELESS memory. There are probably hundreds of books I have read that had EPIC beginnings but unfortunately I wouldn’t be able to remember any of them even with a gun held to my head so I will be revising this weeks topic to the:
Top Ten Books I Couldn’t Put Down Once I Picked Them Up.
It’s almost the same. Kind of. If you squint a bit and turn your head sideways… Just go with it okay.
Without further ado and in no particular order…
Harry Potter (the entire bloody series) by J.K. Rowling. I only read these as a NA and read pretty much the entire series in about a week.
Size 12 Is Not Fat (Heather Wells #1) by Meg Cabot. This one really resonated with me. No I am not a former child star / pop Idol but I am woman who constantly struggles with her weight and accepting myself for who I am.
The Twilight Saga by Stephanie Meyer. Yes. I am cliche like that. Deal with it.
Robbie (The Confessions #1) by Ella Frank. This was my first MM read. And what a HOT one to start off with.
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. This was possibly the most impressive world building I have ever come across. I literally lost myself in this book. For 2 days straight.
Wolfsong (Greencreek #1) by TJ Klune. So. This was the first TJ Klune I had ever read. It was only my like 5th MM book. After I read this (which basically means I started it – and read it straight without any food breaks, mental health breaks or lets be human breaks) I spent an insane amount of money on all the books of his I could get a hold of and emmersed myself in a world unlike any you have ever read. TJ Klune is a master. He can have you hosing yourself in one book to absolutely regretting or rethinking your life choices in the next.
The Wild Ones Series by C.M. Owens. I only read these very recently. And now I am pretty much ready to hunt down the author and demand she writes some more. Because seriously. I have never laughed so much in my entire life.
Mindf*ck series by S.T. Abby (in other words STABBY heehee). S.T. Abby is just C.M. Owens writing under another name. Because this series is EPICALLY dark. There is just something about a really twisted, bad guy, serial killer FEMALE LEAD CHARACTER. Yes folks you got it right. Our FMC is a serial killer.
Year One (Chronicles of the One #1) by Nora Roberts. Honestly there are no words. I have been such a huge Nora Roberts fan for years now. And there really is no doubt that she keeps on growing as an author. But for me this series was epic.

Teaser Tuesday @ The Purple Booker
The rules here are simple. Grab the book your busy with, open on a random page and quote 2 snippets from that page. Just don’t spoil the book for your fellow readers and don’t forget to give us the title and author of the book.
This weeks book is Entrapment: Hidden Dragon Omegaverse by Mercedes Jade.
Nik, she is wound up from being so close to the rogue. Shelly has got a scared b*tch face. She is defensive. It’s the only way-“
I cut Auguste off. “Stop interfering with this. She fantasized about us bullying her. I am not going to be the only one in our pack without my mark on her. The rogue alpha is goint ot know she is ours. Everyone at school will know
Soooo… this is a hot one. But I am LOVING it. Shelly is such a strong and independent character, especially for an omega.
First Chapter, First Paragraph, Tuesday Intros with @ Socrates Book Reviews
Sleeping is for the dead…
What is the first think you do when you wake up?
I am sure for many of us, when forced to unnaturally rise before our bodies are ready, the first thing we do is turn off an annoying alarm.
There are many reasons for wanting to sleep in. At the basic level, our survival trained bodies are attuned for resting at the least risky times of day or night.
Bad habits might save you.
Seriously this book is pretty amazing. The chapters have the most amazing titles like A Smoking Dick & Ovaries on Fire.
So folks… what books managed to grab you from the word go? And would you give Entrapment a go?
Wow, you whipped through the Harry Potter books fast! Good for you. It was so hard to wait for the next book to come out in that series back when they were first released.
My TTT .
I guess that made me a really lucky girl… I didn’t have to wait at all 🙂
I was out of college before I read Harry Potter but the books were still coming out. I think the first 3 had been made into movies. It was a fun time as there were several people at work reading them and we went to a midnight showing of one of the movies and the midnight release of one of the books.
That sounds like it could have been a lot of fun! Thanks for stopping by 🙂
I realllly want to read the Night Circus- it sounds like it just drips with atmosphere!
And glitters with excitement and overflows with colour.
Thanks for stopping by 🙂
I want to read that series by Nora Roberts. It’s been so long since I’ve read one of her books and I always enjoyed them. Your Tuesday Teaser sounds like a good one.
You really should… It’s a good one! Thanks for stopping by 🙂
Same for me with Twilight!
Yay! Thanks for stopping by 🙂
Robbie does sound interesting!
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.
Thanks for stopping by 🙂
