So I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I was in no way compensate for my opinion.

So here are my 4 reasons for 4 stars:

1. Emerald La Roe is an absolutely amazing character. I love the way she was written, how her story was explained and the way she just basically is. I love the way she dealt with what she was given (which I felt was rather realistically) and I loved how easy she was to get invested in.
2. Ms Carver is excellent at world building. The way she described the characters, species and world was really well written I got lost in in completely.
3. I loved the supporting characters. The cast was really eclectic and interesting.
4. Great story line. The byplay between our 3 main characters is really easy to read and the story line is really interesting to follow. I found it really hard to put the book down once I got into it.

So the 1 reason we missed out on a full 5 stars:

1. I did take a while to get into the book. Even though there is plenty to the story I had to push a bit in the beginning to get into it. That said – once I did it was really tough to put down to get some sleep.
